  1. JVArcServ V1.08  :  January 2, 1993.

  3. JVArcServ is a server that will satisfy your requests in looking for a
  4. certain program based on filename or file description.  This server will
  5. search through file requestable file listings for the program you are looking
  6. for, and it will send you an e-mail message back telling you the BBS name,
  7. phone number, and file section of all the systems in the network that
  8. match the given criteria.

  10. Commands that JVArcServ understand:
  11.  
  12. PROG <filename>       Searches for <filename> in filenames.
  13.  
  14. WHAT <desc>           Searches for <desc> in file descriptions.
  15.  
  16. KEY <key>             Searches for <key> in either filenames or file
  17.                       descriptions.
  18.  
  19. KEYWORD <keyword>     Same as KEY, except that <keyword> must be a word
  20.                       on its own and not part of a word.  EG, KEYWORD MAIL
  21.                       will match only "mail" and not "echomail".
  22.  
  23. LISTNODES             List the nodes that currently have file listings here.
  24.  
  25. LISTMAGIC <addr>      Lists all of the magic filenames at <addr>.
  26.  
  27. LISTSECTIONS <addr>   Lists all of the file sections at <addr>.
  28.  
  29. LISTAKA [<addr>]      List all of the AKAs of all of the nodes who have 
  30.                       file listings here.  If <addr> is supplied, then only
  31.                       lists AKAs of <addr>.
  32.  
  33. ZONES                 List the zones known at this location, including the
  34.                       zone number, the name of the zone, and the number of
  35.                       nodes which are in the zone and have file listings
  36.                       here.

  38. REGINFO               Send information on how to register your node with 
  39.                       JVArcServ.  You must obtain this information before
  40.                       you try to register.  Doing otherwise may be hazardous
  41.                       to the harmony of the universe as we know it.

  43. REGISTER [<addr>]     Register your node with JVArcServ.  Send the "REGINFO"
  44.                       command and read the information that is sent to you
  45.                       before you try using this command.  <addr> is an
  46.                       optional address field that you can use if you are
  47.                       long distance from this node, but both you and this
  48.                       system is local to <addr>.

  53. Do not include wildcards (*) when you are doing a search on descriptions
  54. or filenames.  Place 'PVT' somewhere in your message subject if you want
  55. the reply back to you to be private.  Do not place server commands in the
  56. subject line.
